How I long to kiss you

The prince found himself smiling down at the girl, as a child might have if they were given sweets. Alas, she was the only sweet thing Milo wanted. And oh how badly he wanted her.
He laughed at her words and nodded.
"I promise. I shall never keep you waiting again" He smiled and took another step closer to her. He noticed that she was keeping her distance, but that was to be expected from a proper lady. A prince, however, could typically do as he wished.
"Have you waited for long, my lady?" He wondered, stealing a glance at her naked arms, pale in the light of the moon. She truly did look stunning. He had only seen her up close like now a few times. Their time together so far had mostly been stolen glances and short dances together. But he longed for more... Of course he did. She was a young, beautiful maiden. It would have been unnatural for the prince not to want her. As these thoughts consumed him his eyes went to her lips. His hand went gently to her cheek, cupping it in his hand and letting his thumb touch the bottom lip slightly.
"How I long to kiss you" He whispered, softly, almost to himself. He knew that he didn't technically need permission to kiss the lady, but he did not want to sour her image in society. No, if he had his way with her, she would no longer have half of the matches she would get as a maiden. He could not bring himself to do that, not to her.

King Aros sighed deeply when he heard the voice of Lucian Romano. He knew he had been trying to find and speak to the king about some financial issues over the past few days, and naturally, the king had avoided his advisor like he would the plague.
"Make it quick" He sighed as the formal greetings were over with and he was forced to turn to the lord Romano. "It is a party, after all" He continued, raising his cup for the boy to fill it with more wine. Whilst this was done, a familiar laughter was heard across the room and the king's eyes went to the origin of it: Lucian's own daughter, Andrea Romano. She seemed to be flirting openly with some other, insignificant man. It made the king raise his eyebrows as his mistress turned to look at him. He looked away fast, turning again to his advisor. He could deal with Andy later that night.
"Yes yes, very well. I will sign it tomorrow" He agreed finally. What exactly it was he had agreed to he could find out before he signed it. For now, Lucian was under the impression that his king had listened to his advice on whatever tax he had been explaining.

"Darling" A sweet voice spoke to the king's right side and he turned to look at his wife. "Won't you come see me later? I so long for you in the night." She whispered quietly. The king sighed slightly. Lexi knew very well what those looks towards the Lady Romano had meant. But if the king for once was not too tired, could he not put his mistress to the side? It had been months since she had miscarried, and the king had shown no interest in trying for another child after two failed pregnancies. It worried Lexi. She knew her duty, she knew that she must give birth to a healthy, living baby boy. It was a thought that plagued her every waking hour.

"Erhm, not tonight." The king said dismissively, but then caught his wife's sad eyes and sighed before he took her hand. "Some other night. Soon" he promised and let go of her hand again. The affection that he had shown at the beginning of their marriage had gone. He was still pleasant most of the time, but the love had disappeared from his eyes. The last time Lexi could remember seeing it was when she revealed that she was pregnant again. Then, a voice spoke and pulled Lexi from her sorrowful thoughts. She smiled pleasantly and shook her head.
"I'm afraid I cannot keep up with the affairs of the country quite as well as the king or your lord father" She smiled dutifully, to which the king laughed and sipped his wine.
