Have a seat
Evie did not wish the pain of blaming oneself for the incident upon the prince. The royal knights were expected to be trustworthy and he could not possibly have known that this one wouldn’t be. Surely, he never would have left the two alone had he known.
“He put me in a bad situation, My Prince. Not you.” She told him but then got her eyes stuck on his bloody knuckles. Goodness, had the prince been injured because of her? Neither the king nor her own father would be pleased to learn that.
She began to approach him but stopped in her tracks when his words reached her ears. Past royal titles? Perhaps… Perhaps they were. If he said that they were then she was in no position to argue with him – not that she wanted to. She would very much like to be simply Evie, and she would very much like to speak his name, too.
“I agree.” A smiled graced her lips as she took the last steps forward, bringing them closer together. She raised her hands and gently grasped his, actively avoiding his knuckles in an attempt to spare him more pain.
“Have a seat. I shall help you clean up.” She elevated their hands and placed a soft kiss on the palm of his right hand. “Milo.”

Jasper felt terribly uncomfortable. The king often spoke to him but it was in the form of orders and trivial comments, no actual conversations. The same could be said for the lords and ladies at court, which was why it had surprised him so that the lady had bothered to learn his name. Servants were supposed to be invisible. They were there and yet, they weren’t.
Now, he was sitting face to face with the most beautiful lady he had ever had the pleasure of locking eyes with, and she knew his name and spoke to him, and he had no idea what to say. How to act. But he wanted to, well, impress her… He just didn’t have a way to do it.
The food arrived and he gave the woman a quick smile as a thank you, before staring down at the table. It would be rude of him to stare while the lady ate. It was rude of him to stare no matter what she was doing…
“You are very kind my lady.” He quickly said when she offered him. He couldn’t possibly dine with her. It would be all too inappropriate, and he wasn’t about to forget about his stature just because they were no longer in the castle.
“But this food is for you.”
