I CAN
Milo laughed at the thought of himself being the damsel in distress, but not so much of Evie as a knight. He had heard of other kingdom’s having female knights and he did not think it such a bad idea. He had met his fait share of capable women, so why should they not have a chance at knighthood?
“It’s all right, Dominic has gone to get it. He will be back any second” Milo promised just as the carriage in fact turned their corner and approached them. However, Dominic was leading the horses and looked troubled. Milo soon realised why as he approached the carriage.
“It’s broken, your grace” Dominic said, unhelpfully as it was quite obvious that the wheel could not turn properly seeing as it was more square than round. Milo nodded, slightly annoyed but realising he couldn’t take it out on the guard. They needed to find a safe place, not argue about things they could not fix.
“We shall have to take it to a blacksmith” Milo announced before turning to Evie. “And we shall have to find a safe place for us. Perhaps… A pub? Just until the carriage can be mended” He was hoping that the lady had spent enough time in this little town to know of such places. If not he feared that Dominic would have to go and ask around whilst Evie and himself waited someplace out of the rain.

Andy saw some surprise on the servants face as she said his name. Surely he did not think her memory that poor or her so unintelligent that she could not recall a name said a hundred times in her presence?
She nodded at his promise and took a deep breath, willing the pain to go away. But it didn’t. She looked back at the handsome face of her rescuer and suddenly smiled slightly.
“I can walk” She announced, slightly amused. “It is my arm that is injured, not my legs” She said, inclining her head towards her arm which was still throbbing painfully. Not that she was rushing to get out of his big, strong arms, but she knew they could move away from the danger of the stomr faster if they both walked.
