I will carry you

Evie brought the prince along with her, sending the man one last glance before they turned the corner and were officially out of harm’s way. Luckily, the man was smart enough not to follow them. Perhaps he had bought her lie after all? Either way, he would not cause them anymore trouble.
“Yes, Timmy.” She answered, amused. “That is the name of one of my pigs. And it is true, he does not like thunder.”
While most of her animals couldn’t care less, her miniature pig Timmy absolutely despised thunder. She would always bring him inside during storms, much to her father and sibling’s great dismay. It was a good thing that none of them could bring themselves to deny her anything.
“Come to think of it, I believe little Timmy has inherited your snout.” She added, not sure where she found the courage to tell the prince that his nose looked like that of a pig. It didn’t, though. Perhaps that was why she had the guts to make such a statement. It would have been far worse had it been true.
“Are you alright, my prince?” She then added, much more serious. “He did not hurt you, did he?”

He watched with horror as the lightning hit a tree, setting it on fire and scaring the lady’s horse. She fell right off and onto the ground, but the horse kept running and left the woman in the mud.
“My Lady!” Jasper had no idea if she was still conscious or not, but he urged his horse forward and stopped by the woman, quickly descending the large animal, only to watch it run away the very second he let go of the reins.
Oh.
“Fuck.” He swore under his breath. They had gone from having two horses to having none and they were surrounded by trees, in the middle of a thunderstorm.
Not sure what else to do, he got down on his knees by the lady’s side and gently wrapped one arm around her, pulling her into his arms.
“My Lady.” He said, rain pouring down and soaking them both. “Are you alright?”
A stupid question, perhaps. Whether she was alright or not barely mattered because she wouldn’t be for long if they stayed here.
“I will carry you.” He therefor said and got up to his feet with her safely in his arms. The only problem left was that he did not know where to go. Where they would find shelter and safety at a time like this.
