Never

Milo could tell that the girl was upset and it made him want to calm her. The only way he could think of to do that, was to remain calm himself. Maybe if he spoke calmly and confidently, she would feel less distraught? At the same time, he was somewhat surprised by the fact that she had come through the door as though she was entitled to speak to him whenever and however she wanted to. She had interrupted his bath, seen him fully in the nude and not even reacted a little bit? She certainly was taking more liberties than he would have ever allowed most ladies of the court - or any person for that matter. Yet, he did allow it.

A sour taste spread in his mouth as he heard her words. Of all people, a knight should know not to ask a lady to share a room with him. Had he not realised to whom he was speaking?

Darkness flashed past his eyes as the prince heard what had transpired just outside of his room. There was no doubt in his mind that all of it was true. He could tell by the lady’s reaction that it was, and Dominic did have a slight reputation for abusing liquor and women.

Milo’s eyes went to the door but quickly returned to Evie as he heard her words. Why in all hell would Milo want a demonstration of such filth? Of a man taking liberties when he knew the poor woman could not do much to put up a fight? It was quite frankly disgusting.

As she concluded her story, Milo couldn’t help but smile slightly.

“You did, did you?” He said, somewhat amused, although the situation did not allow for him to be. “Well, good.”

And with that he walked over to the door, opened it enough that he’d be able to look at the knight, but not enough to let him in.

“What have you to say in your defence?” Milo said darkly and the man outside of his door looked taken aback by this. He had clearly not expected the lady to be brave enough to say anything to the prince about this.

“Your grace I….I…. I didn’t…” He stammered, to which Milo held up his hand to quiet him.

“If you cannot come up with an intelligent enough answer, I don’t want to hear anything at all. You shall go home, pack your things and get out of this kingdom. If I so much as smell that foul smell coming off of you ever again, you will not only be tortured and hanged, but I shall let the lady personally cut off your balls and feed them to your greedy mouth. I revoke your knighthood and my father will hear all about your transgressions tonight.” The man looked stunned and beaten.

“Now. Get the fuck out of my sight” He concluded and the man turned to walk. “Actually…” As the man turned back around again, Milo’s hand greeted his ugly face and a loud crack sounded from his nose before he fell to the ground. Milo shook his now injured hand and looked down at the man.

“Never underestimate a lady again. Never” He then said and slammed the door in his shocked, bleeding face and locked the door.

Andy watched as he turned and walked over to the bar, his blonde hair dripping from the rain still. Her own hair was soaking wet as well, mainly the tips of it. Although, with jet black hair, it was difficult to even see a difference between when it was dry or not.

She noticed that he seemed to have struck up conversation with the woman in the bar and tilted her head slightly. She didn’t realise that she had ben staring at them before the woman looked right at her, causing Andy to blush and look down at her arm instead. It still felt as though it had a kind of heartbeat. If only it had happened nearer the castle grounds she’d already have the best doctors looking after her, but she somehow didn’t mind too much. At least she now had shelter from the storm.

She wondered what would be told to the king. Many lords and ladies of the court had seen her leave the castle grounds, and the word was sure to have reached the king by now, if he asked. It made her nervous. What would they tell him? How would he feel about it? Would their story together simply be over and done with?

Jasper spoke, and Andy looked up at him, surprised at how quiet he seemed to move. Although she probably wouldn’t have heard his steps over the crowded room anyways.

“No, I think that’s all.” She smiled at him before realising that he did not intend on sitting down.

“Why don’t you sit down? It is not proper for a lady to sit in a pub unaccompanied” She noted and raised her eyebrows. Surely he’d not let a poor lady sit alone?
