Not safe

Ah yes, the most handsome pig in the realm. Evie would have laughed, had her worry not already gotten the better of her. The prince said that there was no need for her to worry and yet she did. She had no idea what the man had wanted from him but she feared what could have happened had she not arrived to interrupt them. If anything would have happened to the prince during this little outing of theirs, she never would have been able to forgive herself. He was here because of her, after all. Should any harm come to him, she would be to blame.
“What knight would I be if I didn’t save a damsel in distress now and then?” She teased, the smile slowly returning to her lips. At least until the sky fully opened and the rain went from being simply a tad bothersome to being absolutely devastating.
She looked around, wondering where his guard had disappeared to.
“My prince.” Evie grabbed him by the arm again, afraid that the wind would take hold of her and drag her off if she didn’t have something to hold on to. And the prince just happened to be appropriate strong and stable.
“It is not safe for you out here.” Not with the thunder closing in on them, and the winds growing more destructive by the minute. She feared it may take hold of loose items soon, and god forbid that something hit him in the head.
“Where is the carriage? We must get you back to the castle.” The prince’s safety was of absolute importance.

She knew his name? Jasper had not expected her to recognize his face, even less know of the name his parents had given him at birth. Sure, she was often near the king where his name was used frequently but even so, he was just a servant and she was a lady. A beautiful lady. He was not worthy of this honor.
Nevertheless, now was not the time to stop and think of it. He had to get the lady to safety, wherever that may be. He honestly had no clue, because he wasn’t sure where exactly the Romano estate was located. Although he was quite confident that it was a long way yet from here, and they had lost both their horses.
“My lady, it is much too dangerous.” He said and watched her with worry in his eyes. The way she moved her arm told him that she had been injured. “But I will find somewhere safe for you to wait out the storm, you have my word.”
That was the best he could do, unless she demanded he walk through the storm with her in his arms, all the way to her home. Of course, if she did find it within her to demand it, he’d do it without hesitation.
