Get me drunk
Prize. A dead animal was no prize. Even so, Evie smiled and nodded.
“Perhaps it will, my prince.” She said, although she knew that it wouldn’t be. Joining as others killed poor innocent animals was bad enough but killing one herself? No. She may be a Romano, but she was nu murderer.
Her eyes searched his face. Such modesty… He was right, though. Chasing and catching ladies had not proved to be one of his many talents, while running away from princes and not getting caught appeared to be one of hers.
She glanced at the servant boy, giving him a quick smile before turning her strict attention to the prince who was being a dear, pouring her wine.
“Are you trying to get my drunk, my prince?” She asked him teasingly as her wine was being filled far beyond what a lady like herself would usually be presented with. Not that she complained. A little bit of wine might make the hunt more bearable.
“Perhaps, if I am drunk enough, you will be able to catch me?” She suggested, and took a sip of her wine.

The more Luca thought about it, the more he begun to realize that he had no choice but to tell his father of the strange incident with the queen. Her ladies would surely spread the word around court that the two of them had shared a walk – albeit a short one – and once his father heard of it, he would surely ask Luca what they had talked about. There was no point in lying to Lucian Romano and so, waiting for his father to ask would be plain stupid. Telling him, on the other hand, would hopefully earn him some well-deserved praise if his father deemed the information valuable.
So, after walking around the garden for a bit, taking great pleasure in its beauty, he headed back inside. His father would arrive at the castle sooner rather than later and hopefully the two of them could find a moment to have a nice little father-son chat.
